Privacy Policy

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy explains how the Multiversal Church of Life, Death and the Unborn collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use this site, request symbolic ordination, generate a certificate, use referral links or Sacred Roll features, use the Portrait Booth, or interact with offering and support links.

This policy does not control third-party websites, payment platforms, social platforms, hosting providers, analytics providers, or services that are not operated by the Church.

2. Information you provide

When you request ordination, the site asks for a name and email address. The name may be a legal name or chosen name. The email address is normalized to lowercase for registry purposes.

If you opt into the Sacred Roll, you may provide a public display name. If you do not provide one, the site may use the name submitted for ordination as the public display name for that feature.

If you contact the operator directly, the Church may receive whatever information you include in that message.

If you make an offering through a third-party service, the payment platform may collect payment, account, device, and transaction information under its own policy. The Church should not receive full payment card numbers from that platform.

3. Information generated by the site

For ordination, the site creates a certificate identifier, issue date, and referral code. The registry stores the submitted name, normalized email address, certificate identifier, issue time, referral code, referral attribution if a valid referral link was used, Sacred Roll display name and opt-in status, terms-and-values acceptance time, and database creation time so that a certificate can be reissued, duplicate ordinations can be prevented, and referral features can operate.

When a referral link is used, the new ordination may be associated with the referring minister's registry record. The referring minister can see referral counts, but the public referral tools are not intended to reveal the referred person's email address.

If a minister is listed on the Sacred Roll, the site may publicly display that minister's chosen public name, referral code, referral count, rank, and related leaderboard dates.

The site may process request headers, IP addresses, user-agent strings, and timing information through ordinary server logs, hosting infrastructure, and security controls.

The ordination endpoint uses temporary server-side rate limiting. Client identifiers and email addresses may be hashed or otherwise reduced for rate-limit checks, and those in-memory rate-limit entries are intended to expire after the relevant rate-limit window.

4. Portrait Booth images and camera data

The Portrait Booth is designed to run in your browser. Camera frames, uploaded images, generated portraits, and saved portrait files are not intentionally uploaded to the Church registry by the Portrait Booth.

If you grant camera access, your browser controls that permission. You can stop the camera from the page or revoke permission in your browser or device settings.

If you save a portrait, it is saved on your device. If you close the page without saving it, the portrait is intended to vanish from the browser session.

5. How information is used

The Church uses information to issue and reissue symbolic certificates, maintain the ordination registry, operate referral links and Sacred Roll features, prevent duplicate registry entries, limit abuse, troubleshoot site behavior, protect the site, respond to requests, and operate the project.

The Church does not sell ordination registry information. The Church does not use portrait images for training, advertising, or public display unless you separately provide them for that purpose.

6. Sharing and service providers

The Church may share information with service providers that help operate the site, including hosting infrastructure, database services, email or support tools, security tools, and offering or payment platforms.

The Church may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights and safety, investigate abuse, enforce terms, respond to lawful requests, or preserve the integrity of the registry.

7. Retention

Ordination registry records, referral codes, referral attribution, and Sacred Roll settings may be retained for as long as needed to reissue certificates, prevent duplicate ordinations, operate referral features, keep registry history, resolve disputes, protect the site, or comply with legal obligations.

Server logs and hosting records may be retained according to provider settings and operational needs. Temporary rate-limit entries are intended to expire after their rate-limit windows, although backups or provider logs may have different retention periods.

Portrait Booth images are not intentionally retained by the Church unless you separately send them to the operator or publish them somewhere else.

8. Security

The Church uses reasonable technical and organizational measures for a small symbolic project, including server-side validation, rate limits, registry access controls, and transport security provided by the hosting stack.

No website, database, browser feature, or transmission method can be guaranteed perfectly secure. Do not submit information that you consider too sensitive for a symbolic public-web project.

9. Your choices and requests

You can choose not to request ordination, not to use the Portrait Booth, not to grant camera access, and not to make an offering.

You may request access, correction, deletion, or other handling of your ordination registry information by contacting the Church operator through the contact channel published with the project. Some requests may be limited by identity verification, legal obligations, abuse prevention, backups, or the need to preserve a minimal duplicate-prevention record.

10. Children

The site is not directed to children under 13. Children under 13 should not submit ordination information, contact information, offerings, or images. If the operator learns that information was collected from a child under 13 without appropriate consent, the operator should delete it when reasonably possible.

11. International visitors

The site may be operated with service providers in multiple countries. By using the site, you understand that information may be processed and stored outside your country or region, where privacy rules may differ.

12. Changes

The Church may update this Privacy Policy as the site, registry, service providers, or legal obligations change. The updated policy applies when posted unless it states otherwise.

13. Legal review

This Privacy Policy is a serious operating draft. It should be reviewed by qualified privacy counsel before the Church relies on it for regulated activities, fundraising at scale, international operations, children's services, health-related services, or formal nonprofit operations.
